Friday the 13th!

Wow! It was like one of those "ask and your wish shall be granted" sort of things. Yesterday, Friday the 13th, the weirdest thing happened. My wife cuddled. Originally we were going to ask a friend to go with us to the St. Louis Art Museum. She's been kind of down and we thought it would be a great pick-me-up. Unfortunately she was too tired to go. So we went just us two instead.

We roamed the main floor a little and then went and saw The Mourners exhibit. Kat's more into abstract art than I am. I enjoy the renaissance and medieval art. I like realism. The Mourners was the one area we mutually agreed was amazing. All the little delicately sculpted figures depicting a funeral procession. Sad but uplifting at the same time.

Throughout the night there were little touches, hand holding. At the end of the night we stepped out of the museum and walked across the street to watch the fountain and the city from the top of the hill. It was beautiful and quiet. And there she snuggled up to me, giving me this awesome sense of closeness.

A brief walk and then it was time to eat and go home. I thought that would be it. She ate, we talked, she played Farmville and talked to our niece. End of the night. Good enough, better than most, but still lacking. I wondered why I couldn't be happy with what little I got. It was good. Work with it.

Then magic happened. She closed the lid of the computer, put it away, and came over and sat next to me on the couch. She snuggled up to my arm and kissed my shoulder. It's a wonder what such a simple act can evoke in a person. It was a WOW moment for me. Freaky Friday indeed. I look forward to the next Friday the 13th.
